About

Hi! My name is Anika (rhymes with harmonica), and I'm an Electrical Engineering and Physics student at the University of Alabama. After graduating in Summer 2024, I plan to study underwater acoustics and ocean engineering in grad school.

As an undergraduate researcher, I've helped develop a custom instrument to measure the physical properties of marine sediments and a compact, low-power acoustic modem based on open-source electronics. As a NOAA Hollings scholar, I'm also working with NOAA Ocean Exploration to study the midwater fauna of a submarine canyon using split-beam multi-frequency acoustics and ROV observations.

Aside from research, I'm very enthusiastic about music (piano, violin, viola, theremin), fantasy novels, amateur radio (KJ7JBA), and art.

Thanks for stopping by :)
